So here’s a list of awesome ministies and awesome causes. Get involved and get moving!

Favor of God Ministries: Uganda, Africa
This is the ministry I’m heading to in Novemer 07. They do lots of different types of ministries and services. They offer basic health work to the different tribes in GULU. They provide a bible training school to those in the camps so that the people can multiply the spreading of the word. They also have an orphanage that houses 33 children. This is a wonderful ministry that deserves your support. Go to their website and see what you can do!

Tom’s Shoes:
This is a shoe company with heart! They make very cool and comfortable shoes and with each purchase they provide a pair of shoes to a child somewhere that doesn’t have any. I own a pair and they are awesome! You can order them online at the link above and they also have a page there to find a store in your town that may carry them.

(RED)
So there is this awesome thing going on called (RED). U2’s Bono started this project and it’s caught fire. Basically there are tons of products that are in many different stores that are specifically (RED) products. Gap has a whole line of (RED) clothing, motorola has the (RED) Razor and more. With each purchase these companies give portions of their proceeds to help fight AIDS in Africa. I’m not sure about the other companies but Gap in particular gives 50% of each sale to the cause. Joe’s Addiction: AWESOME Coffee House
This little jewel is tucked away in Valley Brook in OKC. If you don’t know about Valley Brook it is basically a one mile stretch of strip clubs. They are their own little community in Oklahoma City. There is a new Church plant there called ‘Valley Brook Vineyard’ and they started Joe’s Addiction. They didn’t start it to ‘evangelize’ everyone that walked in but to love everyone that walked in and then hopefully the light of Jesus would be seen. That’s what changes lives. If you like coffee and you live in OKC…this is the place for you. Great coffee and an even better cause!
